Ch. Shinto’s Joy Comes In the Morning
at Jabez at 9 months
Our name comes from 1 Chronicles 4:10
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.
We are a small family-oriented show & breeding kennel located in a suburb of Houston, Texas. Our concept for Jabez Akitas started with our first male puppy, “Smokey”. Smokey grew from a cute, cuddly fur ball into a 120lb teddy bear which embodied the massive head, great temperament, nice angles and beautiful markings characteristic of Akitas.
This was accompanied by a loyalty and devotion to us that surpassed all human understanding. It was then that we realized that this was a blessing worth sharing.
We don’t breed often and when we do we only breed to improve our bloodlines with emphasis on health, temperament, type, and structure. Each breeding is thoroughly and diligently planned. Usually the planning begins as early as 2 years in advance. Our show and companion puppies are placed in loving homes only ( No exceptions).
Faith’s name comes from Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) reads – “And without faith it is Impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe He exists and that He rewards those who EARNESTLY seek Him“.
Our Faith is the daughter of Platinum Grand Champion Wicca’s Trade Secret (Trader) who is the all time top winning dog in the history of Akitas. Despite being shown a select few times, Faith won a 4point major on one of the first full weekends out at 7 months old.
During the prestigious and highly respected Eukanuba Benny and Faith Westminster 2016 National Championship week in Orlando, known for its large national and international entries of competition, Faith more than held her own, despite being one of the youngest competitors there at 10 months, Faith won 3 Best of Winners awards, and a special Best of Opposite Sex award (Trader won Best Of Breed).
This was a super rare occasion where a father and daughter won the top male and female awards at the same show.
Faith’s next show after winning her AKC Championship was one of the largest indoor and competitive dog shows in the U.S. the Houston dog show. Again, despite being the youngest champions there, Faith won back to back to back honors, in one weekend, including her first Best Of Breed awards at only 18 months and 14 points towards her Grand Championship.
Faith recently won Best Of Opposite Sex at the 140th Westminster Dog Show in 2016.
Her name says it all !!!!
